DORIX Children’s Privacy Notice ForYoung People and Parents

Last updated: 24 September 2025

Effective: On acceptance

We take privacy seriously. This notice explains in simple terms how the DORIX app uses information about you. If you are under 13 in the UK, or under the age your country sets for online services, you should ask a parent or guardian to read this with you.

1- Who we are

We are DORIX Ltd in London, United Kingdom. You can email us at privacy@dorix.com if you have questions.

2- What the app does

The app enables users to control DORIX smart locks and cylinders. For example, you can unlock a door, share a digital key with a trusted person, or see when a door was opened.

3- What information we use

  • Your account details, like your name and email, are required when you sign up.
  • Details about the device you use, like the phone model and app version.
  • Access events, for example when a lock is opened.
  • Optional things only if you turn them on, like your phone’s Bluetooth, location for nearby unlock, or camera for QR codes.
  • We do not upload any fingerprint or face template to our servers. If a lock uses a fingerprint, the template stays on the device.

4- Why we use your information

  • To run the app so you can use your locks and keys.
  • To keep accounts and devices safe.
  • To fix problems and make the app better.
  • We do not show adverts from other companies in the app.

5- Your choices

  • You can switch off optional permissions in your phone settings. Some features may then not work.
  • You can ask us to send you a copy of your information, fix it if it is wrong, or delete your account. A parent or guardian can help with this. Email privacy@dorix.com.

6- Using the app if you are under 18

  • If you are under 13 in the UK, or under the age that applies in your country, a parent or guardian must agree to your use.
  • Parents and guardians can manage access and can ask us to delete an account or remove a digital key.

7- How long we keep information

We keep your information only for as long as we need to run the app. Event logs are usually kept for about a year unless an organisation that manages the building sets a different period. We delete your account data when you close the account or ask us to.

8- Who can see your information

  • People you share a digital key with can see the permissions you give them.
  • Organisations that manage a building may see logs for that building if they are responsible for safety and security.
  • Our service providers help us run the app. They must protect your information and follow our instructions.

9- If you have a concern

You can email us at privacy@dorix.com. You can also speak to a parent or guardian who can help contact us.

10- Changes to this notice

We may update this notice. If we make significant changes, we will tell you in the app.

11- Governing law and jurisdiction

This notice is governed by the laws of England. The courts of England have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute connected with this notice.
