The Alnwick resists every known method of cylinder attack, including snapping, picking, bumping, pulling, drilling, and sabotage by freeze or glue. Its patented 9-pin mechanism with an exclusive keyway provides enhanced manipulation resistance, while the snap-secure cam ensures that even if attacked externally, the lock remains operable from inside for occupant safety.
The Alnwick is certified to the highest UK and European security standards, including BSI TS007-1:2024 – 3 Star, Sold Secure SS312:2024 – Diamond, Secured by Design police approved, FD30/60 fire rating to BS EN 1634 1:2014+A1:2018, PAS24 enhanced door security requirements and BS EN 1303:2015 for durability, corrosion resistance, and operational excellence, completing over one million cycles without any performance loss.

| If the cylinder is forcibly snapped from the external side, the internal cam disengages from the broken segment, blocking external operation.

| The Alnwick uses nickel silver dimple keys cut on a restricted DORIX keyway. Each key is 3 mm thick and engraved with a unique 9-digit code to prevent unauthorised duplication.
An optional magnetic element adds a concealed layer of key control. Genuine keys are required to maintain the DORIX £10,000 Anti-Burglary Guarantee. |
| Freeze and Glue Attack Resistance |

| In a freeze attack, water is injected into the keyway and solidified to jam the mechanism after a snap attempt. In a glue attack, cyanoacrylate and an activator are used in the same way. The Alnwick’s anti-snap design and tight tolerances prevent these sabotage methods from disabling the operation. |
| Thumbturn Safety Feature |

| The thumbturn version features a release button that prevents installation damage by preventing the plug from twisting, and can be used to release the cylinder if the external side has been snapped and locked. |
| Keying |
| The Alnwick supports Keyed Different (KD), Keyed Alike (KA) and Master Key (MK) configurations, allowing a single key to operate multiple cylinders or a master key to control groups of doors.
For larger estates or commercial sites, a properly designed locking plan ensures long-term key control and future expansion. We recommend contacting DORIX for locking plan design and key control procedures to maximise security and flexibility. |
